A Round That Felt Like Survival
Last week, I played golf in Tasmania. It was supposed to be a bucket list experience. One of the most beautiful courses in the world.
But nature had other plans.
Hail hit hard. Heavy rain poured down relentlessly. The temperature dropped to 8 degrees. Strong winds from the sea made it difficult to even walk forward.
I had four layers on, yet I was drenched and freezing.
At one point, I stopped and asked myself a simple question
Am I playing golf or just trying to survive this round
It did not feel like a game anymore. It felt like a test.
Why I Kept Going
I could have stopped. Anyone would have understood.
But I had flown all the way from Singapore to Tasmania for this experience. I was not going to quit halfway.
So I kept going
Shot after shot
Hole after hole
I took breaks when needed. I gathered myself and continued. Slowly, steadily, without overthinking the finish line.
The Moment Everything Changed
After completing all 18 holes, something unexpected happened.
A rainbow appeared.
In that moment, everything felt different. The struggle, the discomfort, the cold, the exhaustion. It all made sense.
Standing there, looking at that rainbow, I realized something deeper
This is exactly what the entrepreneurial journey feels like.
“Resilience is not about feeling strong. It is about continuing when everything feels difficult.”
Every Business Goes Through Its Own Storm
If you have built a business or are building one right now, you already know this
It is never a straight path
There are moments that hit you without warning
The hail moments
When challenges come out of nowhere
The wind moments
When external factors push you off track
The cold moments
When motivation drops and everything feels harder than it should
These are not rare situations. They are part of the journey.
What Most People Get Wrong About Resilience
In those difficult moments, you do not always feel strong
You do not feel confident
You do not feel in control
You simply keep going
You protect your brand
You make tough decisions
You move forward even when stopping feels easier
That is what resilience actually looks like
It is not about feeling powerful
It is about staying consistent when things are uncomfortable.
The Truth About Success
There is something most people forget
Success does not come after the storm
It comes because of the storm
Every great brand
Every successful entrepreneur
Every meaningful journey
Has gone through its own version of discomfort, uncertainty, and pressure
Those moments are not obstacles
They are part of the process that builds strength, clarity, and direction.
The Rainbow Principle
The rainbow is not random
It is a result of everything that came before it
The rain
The storm
The intensity
Without those conditions, the rainbow would never appear
The same applies to business and life
Your growth
Your success
Your breakthrough
They are all built on the challenges you go through
Final Thought
The real question is not whether you will face storms
You will
The real question is
Will you stay in the game long enough to see your rainbow
Because the ones who do are not always the most talented
They are the ones who kept going when it was hardest
