Why Hire a Marketing Consultant

Why Hire a Marketing Consultant | Jerome Joseph

I’m a marketing consultant, so the title of this post should not be surprising, but let me start with why you should not hire a consultant.

Advisors and consultants are not magicians. Do not look for someone for your marketing if your product does not make sense. Do not wait for a consultant to enter the scene and get you more clients if you do not have a methodology that allows you to stand out. And finally, you don’t have to hire a consultant so you can abdicate the important role of marketing to an expert.

A good advisor or consultant will not take your money unless they think they can really help you no matter what you think your main need is, you should hire a consultant to help you in the following areas:

You Need a Real Strategy

A good advisor or consultant will demand that you spend time in building a firm foundation based on the strategy before proposing a series of tactics aimed at increasing traffic. You’ll find that your marketing efforts never seem to pick up until you find a way to change the context of how your ideal customer sees what you’re doing,

You Need Fewer Goals

A good consultant will help you determine your work with the highest priority in profitability and your most urgent objectives according to where you want to be in five years, in three years, or in a year – not next week. And, a good advisor or consultant will make sure that the number of priority objectives at any given time stays very, very small.

You Have a Resource Deficit

Sometimes in the “do it all yourself” world of small businesses, it is difficult to detect the areas that require external help. You may be able to configure your newsletter, add plugins for WordPress and create basic graphics for your social networks, but all this work actually steals your focus from the work that gave you the highest profits.

Sure, those things mentioned above may need to be addressed, but a good consultant will help you stop doing things that are better handled by others.

You Need to Solve or Improve Your Conversion

This may be my favorite point. Too many business owners and unfortunately some consultants focus on traffic and like when the highest priority should be conversion. When you can find a way to get the visitors and prospects of your website to respond to your sales presentation to buy, you can build a significant business.

Once you have the right conversion strategy in place, you can buy ads that increase traffic with confidence, in fact, you can get a dividend from those conversions.

You Can’t Focus

One of the hidden secrets of counseling and consulting is that a part of you simply needs someone to help you manage – someone to help you document your goals and objectives and then hit you with a kind of stick when you are wandering with new ideas and social networks because sometimes maintaining concentration seems too boring.

The greatest benefits are achieved when your approach begins to produce results. A good advisor or consultant will demand metrics linked to objectives and help you process and understand the global value that derives from achieving your goals.
